Electric Vehicle Charging
LA Solar Group provides electric outlet installations for use with electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE), commonly called EV chargers.
Many of our customers who install an industry-leading solar system also opt to install an EV power outlet because they already own or are planning to own an electrical vehicle (EV). EV power outlets enable them to offset the energy required to charge their EV with the energy generated by their solar system – an end-to-end green solution!
Installing the EV outlet at the same time as their solar system or electric main panel upgrade also allows them to save time and money. EV charging at home is convenient, cost-efficient, and emissions-free. Furthermore, while electric vehicles’ demand is rapidly growing, and solar industry technologies are continuously developing, the prices for EV chargers are dropping down.
Installing an EV charging outlet provides flexibility in using almost any electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE), depending on the EV’s requirements. In case you need to change your charger, you simply need to disconnect the plug—a contrast to a hardwired EV charger installation.
Depending on your needs and your electric service, the most common outlets are NEMA 14-50 (240V, 50A) or NEMA 14-30 (240V, 30A) for level 2 charging.
Installing an EV power outlet is a great decision due to its relatively low cost, especially when installed in conjunction with a solar system or electric main panel upgrade. This is especially true if you own or may own an EV. In addition to rebates and other incentives, many utilities have special rate plans that provide lower rates for electricity used to charge EVs. For charging outlet installation, we recommend licensed EV charger electricians who you can trust to do the job.
