The recycling program at CSUN was established in 1991 as a collaborative effort between Associated Students (A.S.) and the university to promote the benefits of recycling and divert recyclable materials from the university’s waste stream. This year, Solar Energy Consultant Daniel Medford had the opportunity to represent the group being involved with California State University to help encourage our future generation to think green and help reduce the impact to our environment.
America Recycles Day is a fun way to reward students for recycling. The event supports the campus community by collecting paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and school materials such as inkjet and laser toner cartridges, cell phones, tin cans and beverage containers. In addition to the collection, program participates in various sustainability projects such as the award winning Sustainable Office Program, Green Events Consulting, and throwing educational events.
